AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGY

Internet Transcript Repository

A repository can be set up according to an individual case, law firm or lawyer. The repository allows attorneys and staff to use a password to exclusively access the site and print or download a transcript from anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Video-to-Text Synchronization

This very useful tool allows for the viewing and creation of video deposition segments. By simply keying in page and line designations, or by searching deposition transcripts by words or phrases to find the desired testimony, the corresponding video clip can be created. These video clips can then be played independently or merged for a continuous presentation of video testimony.

Realtime Transcription Service

Realtime transcription is a service offered which allows an attorney or witness to view spoken testimony on a notebook computer instantaneously as it is recorded by the court reporter.

How does Realtime Transcription work?
The court reporter writes the testimony on a steno writing machine which is connected to a computer that automatically displays the English text on the computer screen.  Attorneys can view the testimony as it occurs and/or review previously received testimony.

With a single keystroke, you can . . .

  • Highlight relevant testimony for later reference

  • Scroll back, Search, and "Go To" pertinent text.

  • Make notes concerning testimony.

  • Jump to specific page references.

  • Save all notes on a disk to an ASCII Text File.

Why would you need Realtime?
The future is now and this is an excellent tool for challenging questionable testimony, tracking multiple issues, and eliminating problem areas in examination.

When would you want to use Realtime?
Realtime is useful in cases involving multiple depositions and cases where issues may become clouded by conflicting testimony.  Realtime's use in trial is an invaluable tool for the impeachment of witnesses.

Internet Streaming

One of today’s most unique court reporting solutions is Internet streaming with or without video. This technology allows transcripts from legal proceedings to be broadcast to any participating party from any location in real time, via personal computer or personal digital assistant. These events can support an unlimited number of viewers, with or without password protection, and do not require any third-party plug-ins for viewing. Most events can even be viewed through firewalls. Benefits of Internet streaming include:

  • Strengthen presence at depositions by increasing support/collaboration among multiple parties involved in litigation;

  • Reduce travel expenses by allowing expert witnesses/other key participants to “attend” remotely;

  •  Encourage Junior attorneys to learn from watching more experienced attorneys in action;

  • Allow the entire litigation team to take notes, observe witness demeanor, and better prepare for future depositions; and,

  • Enable team members to email critical supporting documents to the attorney on-site, if necessary.
